Strolling magic: When you are celebrating with friends and family, magic can entertain your guests from ages 2-100. In fact, at the 95th birthday party of famed architect I.M. Pei, Mark even performed for a 105 year-old guest, proving that there really is no age limit for enjoying stellar sleight-of-hand presented with humor and charm. As Mark works the room, he dazzles guests with his energetic card tricks and other mind-boggling effects. Watch as he mingles with your guests, energizing the room. After-dinner shows: Customized after-dinner shows are a great way to put a spotlight on the guest of honor, and to cap off a successful party with a final performance that is enjoyed by the entire group. Entertaining clients and employees: When you are hosting an event for your most important clients or employees from around the world, no matter how small or large, you can feel confident knowing that Mark will fit in perfectly with your group, performing close-up magic and/or an after-dinner show that will amuse and impress even the most discerning crowd. Trade shows: When you want to stand out at a trade show and triple or quadruple the traffic at your booth, have Mark perform customized magic, incorporating your company's message. He will work with your sales team to make sure he understands exactly what you are promoting and the points you need to convey, and he will dazzle with his sleight-of-hand and friendly demeanor. The result: more qualified leads, and a highly successful trade show experience for your company. Meetings: Liven up meetings by adding a touch of Mark Mitton's magic. You may want to make the president of the company or your new product magically appear, or add interesting live transitions between PowerPoint presentations. PRODUCINGMark Mitton and his team of talented producers, prop builders, costumers, riggers and production staff are available to create customized productions per your specifications.
In the summer of 2015, Mark's team, together with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, produced a historic 280-meter wire-walk by the legendary Swiss circus artist David Dimitri over the heads of 5,000 spellbound people in Athens, Greece. The walk celebrated the pre-opening of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, which will house the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera. The opening of the show was performed by circus performers flown in from North America and Australia, and custom-made art videos by award-winning video artist Bo Gehring. For photos of this event, please click here. Past projects have included the creation and direction of a freak-show opening circus for Aerosmith, a customized magic show for fashion designer Carolina Herrera on the occasion of Fashion's Night Out, and many private and corporate events incorporating world-class circus acts. |
MAGIC CONSULTINGAs a magic and special effects consultant, Mark teaches actors how to look and move like a magician, provides ideas for magical effects, and works with creative teams to incorporate magic into anything from major Hollywood movies and commercials, to Broadway and off-Broadway shows, Cirque du Soleil extravaganzas, and avant-garde video art installations.
He has made Will Smith appear in the middle of Times Square, taught sleight-of-hand to and created special effects for actors Tony Shalhoub, Stanley Tucci, John Travolta and John Lithgow, and he has created magic for New York's 'Shakespeare in the Park' festival. The photo above shows him at work with John Travolta and director Walt Becker, shooting a scene for the movie 'Old Dogs' in New York City. |
LECTURESMark is a frequent speaker on subjects such as 'Deception', 'Misdirection', and 'How Magic Works'. Combining the ideas of magic masters Slydini and Max Malini with those of Nobel-laureate Gerald Edelman, he presents at conferences and in university classrooms around the world on what we can learn when we express ourselves with actions rather than with words.
The format of these presentations can be short or long, and usually includes quite a bit of audience participation. PowerPoint slides are kept to a minimum because... this is all about action. By the end of the lecture, audience members will have had the experience of doing one or two simple magic tricks themselves, and feeling what it is like to learn a craft. |
NERDY STUFFThanks to his insatiable curiosity, his unique way of connecting the dots, and his keen interest in the world around us, Mark is often brought on to teams as an "outside agent of change". A natural cross-pollinator who is comfortable in any environment - from board rooms to the streets, and from salons to science labs - Mark's insights are valued by academics and business leaders alike.
