Magical Gag Called In for Seattle Rep

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

My friend Alice Playten is out in Seattle playing Toinette the maid-servant in Molière’s ‘The Imaginary Invalid’. Alice is a Broadway legend. As a child she played Baby Louise in the original company of ‘Gypsy’ starring Ethel Merman. More recently she has appeared on ‘Frasier’ and starred in ‘Caroline, or Change’. Alice wanted to add a magical gag to the play so we talked on the phone, and I helped her put in a funny effect with a scarf. The play opens tonight at the Seattle Repertory Theatre and runs through March 22nd.

All Aboard the Mayercraft Carrier

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Susanna and I just returned from a cruise to the Bahamas with John Mayer on the ‘Mayercraft Carrier’. You may remember that I performed at John’s birthday party last October. This was a 3-day rock festival at sea for 2,800 of his fans. Not only did John do three amazing shows, he also had many other talented artists (Bob Reynolds, David Ryan Harris, Brandi Carlile, Martin Sexton, Soulive, Cooper, among others) perform on board. It was an absolute blast!
